A large 19th century French terracotta "Saloir" pot retaining its original lid. A Saloir pot is glazed was traditionally used in provincial France to preserve products, immersed in coarse salt. Area of Southern France, circa 1880.

Condition report: In good and un-restored condition, showing the wear and tear typical of its use and age.

Dimensions: Height including lid 60 cm.
