A Normandy Bookcase

A wide and well-proportioned, mid 19th century French Louis XV style, haut-relief carved solid oak and glazed two-door, three drawer "Vitrine" bookcase, the pediment decorated with a wheel pattern, the panels of the doors with a central haut-relief carved 'flower candelabrum', the plinth with a French 'Fleur-de-Lys' pattern. Internally fitted with adjustable-height shelves. Please note the wonderful shape of the glazed panels and proportions of the outsized wrought iron drawer handles. Area of Lower Normandy, circa 1850.

Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition.
