A large, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period cast iron crucifix, the cross in a fretted structure decorated with stylised foliate motifs, a crown of thorns surrounding the figure of Christ, the plinth with the figure of an Evangelist, standing on a bed of reeds. Provenance: a deconsecrated graveyard in Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1860.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing wear in keeping with its outdoor use.
