A large mid 20th century French woven wool "Verdure" Tapestry depicting a scenic landscape with a bridge with a river running under it, monist trees, ducks and swans in the foreground, and against a background of Châteaux and forests. Retaining the original woven foliate-pattern border. The rear with a monogrammed and numbered tag from the "Manufacture des Gobelins", the 15th century tapestry workshop still operating today. Condition report: In good and original condition. The rear of the tapestry with its original lining, and with the original brass hanging rings.
