A wonderfully masculine early 20th century French Empire style solid cherrywood and book-matched cherrywood desk of five drawers standing on four pilaster legs fitted with finely gilt and chased brass capitols and plinths. Retaining its original, well-worn leather top. The top is fitted with two extension leaves that pull out from the desk ends. Retaining all the original locks and all of the gilt brass mounts. Condition report: In excellent and un-restored condition. There are some losses of cross-banding on the lower rails which are repairable in our workshop.
