An excellent quality mid 19th century Napoleon III period Louis XV style parcel-gilt solid walnut serpentine top Gueridon centre table, decorated with carved sea shell and foliate motifs, fitted with two hidden drawers, standing on Cabriole legs joined by a shaped 'X' stretcher with an urn finial. The top fitted with (later) gilt-edged leather. Stamped on one of the drawers "P. MAZAROZ. R" and impressed with the number 16921. Paul Mazarozi (d. 1900) was a well known Second Empire sculptor and artiste industriel with a workshop in the rue des Filles-du-Calvaire in Paris. He helped organise the 1865 Exhibition at the Union Centrale des Arts Decoratifs and was a silver medallist at the Exposition Universelle, 1878.
